The Preston Hall
Georgian home style first appeared in the English Colonies more than three hundred years ago, and was quickly adopted as a symbol of elegance and wealth. Things haven't changed much - the classic Georgian home is as strong a statement of American values as ever.
The Preston Hall has all the qualities of a Virginian Plantation with all the amenities of a modern home. A grand entry hall leads through an arch to the family room beyond, and is flanked by a living room and dining room. A library adds one more formal room to the house.
The remainder of the first is designed for an active family - a spacious master suite is a private retreat, but isn't completely isolated from the rest of the house. A large kitchen (with walk-in pantry and separate butler pantry) opens to a huge breakfast/family activity area. And as in most of RTA Plans designs, the mudroom/utility area/family entry is a very important feature.
Upstairs four bedrooms share two large "Jack-and-Jill" baths, and each bedroom has a large walk-in closet.
